SYNLAB appoints new CBO to steer development in next phase of growth

  • New Chief Business Officer role reflects the need for SYNLAB to address the challenges brought about by the Group’s sustained growth across geographic regions and the increased scope of the business

SYNLAB Group (‘SYNLAB’ or ‘the Group’) today announces the appointment of Mathieu Floreani as Group Chief Business Officer (‘CBO’) and Deputy Chief Executive Officer (‘CEO’) with effect from September 8, 2017. The introduction of the new CBO role marks the next phase of SYNLAB’s growth and reflects the need for SYNLAB to address the challenges brought about by the Group’s sustained growth across geographic regions and the increased scope of the business. Mathieu Floreani will be reporting to the Group CEO Dr Bartl Wimmer.

In his new role, Mr. Floreani will be responsible for coordinating SYNLAB’s ongoing business and organic growth. In addition he will focus on harmonising and promoting the implementation of commercial best practices across the Group which will enable SYNLAB to further improve its services for patients and customers.

Mathieu Floreani was formerly CEO of the Forwarding division of DHL in the Americas, where he led an organisation operating across 20 countries. Previously he turned around the Express business of DHL in Canada, and prior to that was Vice President Commercial at DHL Express in France. He joined DHL from McKinsey, where he was an Associate Principal and led strategy and organisational engagements, advising companies across different industries. He started his career in the Chemicals business of Total.
